The Boardman Review Fall Issue Release Party
September 30th | 6 PM | Common Good, East Side Social District
For the third year in a row, we’re collaborating with the Michigan Outdoor Summit, happening Tuesday, September 30, through Wednesday, October 1, 2025. The fun begins @ 6pm Tuesday evening with the Boardman Review Fall Issue Release Party—a night of community, conversation, and fresh storytelling that sets the tone for the Summit. The release party will take place at Common Good in the East Side Social District in Traverse City (Near Garfield & Eighth St). The event will be both indoors and outdoors, so dress accordingly. Drinks and food will be available from places like Common Good, Tank Space, and Oakwood Proper Burgers. At the event, expect a mix of live readings, new work launches, and music by DJ Ras Marco who will spin some vinyl records and bring the good energy to kick things off.
On Wednesday October 1st, the Summit dives into a full schedule of outdoor meet-ups, panels, breakout sessions, and a closing “Power of Nature” keynote featuring artist Ian Solomon. As part of our Summit collaboration, we're honored to feature stories from summit participants Amanda Westra, Zachary Branigan, and Ian Solomon in this issue. They each capture what the Summit is all about—stories rooted in place, tradition, and forward-looking care for our landscapes, cultures, and futures. See below for a full rundown of our Fall Issue stories.
So grab a sweater, a cup of something warm, and settle in. We think this issue will feel a lot like this season: full of connection, possibility, and a reminder that the next great story might just lead you back home—or into something wonderfully unexpected.
